James D. Ralph, Founder
Vice President of Engineering
Jim, a member of the North American Spine Society (NASS), has more than 30 years of experience in both the manufacturing and design of medical implants giving him a unique perspective for the development of products that enhance quality of life. In addition to being one of the owners of both Fastenetix and SpineCore, Jim served as their Director of Engineering where he was responsible for the development of technology that was sold or licensed to several major orthopedic and spine companies in the US. Jim has been the named inventor in over 160 patents in the areas of orthopedic, spine and general surgery. With BioDynamics, he has focused his attention on the next generation of designs for medical implants that more closely mimic the body’s natural composition and motion. These developments are geared toward improving both function and comfort for the patient.
Jane A. Grinch
Jane is an attorney and a partner in the firm of Cowen & Grinch in Hackensack, New Jersey. She is a consultant to the company with respect to its internal legal matters, working closely with James Ralph, the company's engineers and IP counsel to insure the proper development and protection of BioDynamics' intellectual property.
Patrick J. Darcy
Chief Financial Officer
Pat holds his CPA license in New Jersey as well as New York. A graduate of Barnard Baruch College, he started his career in 1973 with the Internal Revenue Service gaining experience in auditing, individual and corporate tax law, litigation support, employee embezzlement and subterfuge. Pat is an active partner with a New Jersey based public accounting firm.
Paul S. Starr
Vice President of Technical Marketing
Paul is a graduate of Saint Peters College, and a CPA who worked for the Internal Revenue Service for many years before establishing his own business. He is an advisor to individual clients and start-up companies in the chemical, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
Mark has spent more than 25 years in the medical field developing products for use in vascular surgery, spine surgery, neurosurgery and cardio-thoracic surgery. Prior to joining BioDynamics in 2005, he worked for almost 15 years at Synthes, in the Spine and CMF divisions where he last served as Manager of the Neurosurgery Group.
Thomas N. Troxell
Tom has an extensive background in mechanical devices and has spent more than 20 years in the medical field successfully developing products for use in spine surgery and chest wall reconstruction. Tom worked for 10 years at Synthes Spine before joining James Ralph at Fastenetix and SpineCore. He has collaborated with Jim on dozens of patents in the BioDynamics portfolio.
